THats a shame you have to put it up for winter... but...
I was up there last march, for spring break (snowboarding).... it's the second time I've been there that a winter storm suddenly happened.. it's almost like it was my fault! We had to drive from Maine to Boston in that mess.... first time ever to drive in a snow storm... hope I never have to do it again. :)
on a happier note, I did get to stock up at the NH Liquor Store... lol
back on topic.... NICE CAR!!!!!

Very nice Stang!
I just can't get over the idea of putting up a car for the winter. I grew up in Oklahoma with snow storms, ice storms, major thunderstorms and have driven in all of them. We would go weeks at a time with snow covering the ground and never "put up the car". No, we didn't have any other mode of transportation (and couldn't afford a winter and summer vehicle) so it really wasn't an option.
I understand why you guys do it and I realize the winters in the northeast are much more intense than the ones I grew up with. Also, I'm very happy for the cars that they don't have to see the salt and sand thats put down on the highways, it just seems like it would be hard for me to park my charger for the winter. I guess its a good excuse to have a 4x4 too! Sorry, end rant.............
Did I say Nice STANG?!

My last car, Nissan SE-R Spec V, I had 18" summer tires and then 15" for the winter. It got really old trying to switch back and forth. And it would never fail, I'd take them off...and we'd get a blizzard. So, I thought, ok new car...just put it away and I'll walk. I mean, I'm three blocks from the subway. Plus, I'll keep her clean! That's my thinking atleast. I need to move somewhere warm!

That’s cool, never been on a subway and changing tires and all would be a major pain.
The first person I ever met from NY (now this was a long time ago) was just learning to drive. She was mid 20's and had come to Texas with her church for a year. I was amazed that she had never learned to drive! But as she explained, no need. Subways and taxis in NY or just walk. I was like WOW, I couldn't just walk to the store from the farm, it was over three miles away. (Uphill, both ways, in the snow, ice, and rain.....goodness I'm starting to sound like my parents........)
I think it’s great that you can store your car for the winter. Just for me, I would have to get use to that. I've never lived in a big city.
That’s what I'm really enjoying about this forum, the opportunity to meet new people from all over and learn more about each area of the US.
Glad your here!

I've been thinking the same thing about parking for the winter! (I'm from IL originally)
But also, I too don't know what it'd be like to be ABLE to! Either walking, public transportation, or 2nd vehicle. Closest I've been is Chicago, it's definatly different to be able to walk almost everywhere.

I love being able to walk...good for the heart. But then again, talk to me when I'm walking in three feet of snow!

Welcome :) I too know about the putting up of the nice car for the winter. I've had too many scary close calls! My husband and I say that driving a stang in the winter is like trying to "drive" on two pairs of ice skates.

Its hard to beat the south .. I'm very partial to NC .. been all over ... and simply wouldn't want to LIVE anywhere else . though I love the beach .. and sometimes the snow .. we have both between the mountains 2 hours away and the beach 3 hours away .. plus all the local lakes and the rolling hills of the peidmont I live in .. only 15 min from downtown Charlotte .. as big of a city as I like .. so yeah .. plus sometimes around christmas its still warm enough to drop the top on the vert ..

growing up i spent my summer in SoCal...the rest her in Boston. I am such the city girl. love the area, the history, all the stuff to do...it's just so damn cold! but, i work right in downtown, 12 miles from home, 3 miles from Fenway Park...my bad, god know what i will start with that comment! :p but, the winters are killer! i'll take some pics this season. they "forget" to plow i swear!
