VA road trip?

So my last road trip, even though I did make it to VA, I really didn't have time (or extra cash) to travel all over to meet y'all. . . .so maybe if we start planning NOW I can come on down and socialize with at least some of y'all :D
When's a good time of the year to come down?
What kind of stuff is there to do?
which areas are y'all from and can we meet in a central/fun area?

well if you come up to va, depending on where you are in va, we could meet up in ocean city md. some say its not a bad drive from va to here. its a 2 her drive for me coming from my house. im not too familiar with the va area but they say oc isnt far from it..

I'm in Newport News. Busch Gardens and Water Country are only about 15 minutes away from me, VA beach is about 45. There's lots of stuff to do around here, it just depends on what you like to do!

I live in podunk VA, nothing here to do, but I wouldn't mind a beach day trip (about 4 hours to VA Beach)

Ok, back to the topic: is there any time of year that is especially good to come to VA? any seasons I should avoid, example: hurricane, storms, bugs the size of footballs seasoon? :rofl:

I'm not sure what type of weather you're used to, but this time of the year is extremely hot. I mean, the heat index today is 115 degrees, for crying out loud..lol. I don't like being out in it. I like springtime, early and late summer, and fall here. The winters don't really seem too cold here, but living in Germany for 7 years showed me what a frigid winter is really like.

So...now that I've been here a few weeks, maybe a trip to Virginia Beach the weekend after (busy) Labor Day will be a good break from work...is the weather/water still pretty tolerable then?

Would you be interested in doing a cruise up the Parkway when we get closer to Fall one weekend? I work all Sundays (boo) but I have most Saturdays off, so maybe one Saturday afternoon? It's beautiful when the leaves start changing!

And I have NO clue about the water, lol! It's probably still fairly warm though.

I'm not sure about the water during Sept in VA beach, I've only been down there twice or so, and one of those times was 11 years ago in February LOL! We've been going to Yorktown beach since it's closer and less crowded. I so hope to be free that weekend! I don't work but my husband does, and I'm not sure if he has that weekend off or not.
