View Full Version : Seatbelt is cutting into my neck!

:tantrum: does anyone else have this trouble? My seatbelt hits me right at my neck and is irritating. You don't have to own a Mustang to answer this but my particular issue is with my Mustang. I really didn't want to have to resort to adding something to my seatbelt but I find myself pulling at it a lot so I'm gonna have to do something.
Any suggestions?

adjust the seat to sit up higher... take it out and put a new one in... take out all the restraints and put in 5pt racing harnesses

I have the same issue so I understand too well. I have found no good solution for it.

I've had this issue before as well in some vehicles. Usually I have to resort to pushing it down under my, uh, chest. lol I do remember that my 97 GT had something attached to the side of the seat to run the seatbelt through to keep it down lower. I'm not sure if the 99-04's had those or not.

If I raise the seat I feel all discombobulated lol and like my foot is too high for the pedals.

If the belt is not adjustable (check the B Pillar if it can slide up and down) then all you can really do is what Bart suggested, or add one of those clips to the belt to make it sit a little lower.

yeah there is a loop it passes through ...

...which is not adjustable :). What clips are you talking about? Chip clips? I can fix anything with a chip clip LOL

They sell little padded velcro cushions that you can put around the seat belt then move to where you need it for extra padding.

I dunno... I have the same problem. Mines really bad now. Its all the way out now so you pretty much drowned in seat belt and then it has its moments where it gets extremely tight! Audrey is getting on my last nerve right now though... Im at the point where I try to avoid driving her just because I always find a new problem :(

Hahaha that's what I have to do too! And mine has that thing to hold it on the seat, but it's still a little high....
I say we make a padded velcro OG thing! Imagine all us Mustang peeps that would buy one! haha

I'm very short, so I have this issue and it makes it worse that I'm pregnant because it also kills the baby belly... so Landen kicks the crap out of me.
Those velcro things work well but I have yet to find some I actually LIKE lol!
