Just another newbie

Hi all!

I've been into F-bodies since 1998, really got into the car hobby after I purchased my 1997 LT1 Firebird in 2000. I blame my dad for getting me started he had a 1970 Plymouth Roadrunner back in the day. I'm into drag racing and recently this year I tried Auto Crossing which is also fun.:)

I've run a best of 13.60 @ 102mph forgot what my 60ft was, its been so long since I have actually run the car hard down the track. She had more in her but I've been dealing with issues with the car so i'm in line for a new engine set up here in the next few weeks. I am very excited about it.

Mods so far are the usual: 2.73 gears to 3.42 gears, refreshed the rear end, adjustable pan hard rod, KYB adjustable's, sub-frames, BMR lower control arms, Cold air intake, Pacesetter headers, X-pipe exhaust(sweet thunders), NGK TR 55's, MSD plug wires, Yank 3000 stall with tranny cooler, LS1 tail lights, line lock, strut tower brace, added the ram air hood and T/A wing, paint job.

The car was a Formula but I like the T/A look better, I kept the formula nose on it though. I'm into working on my car and getting things done. My hubby has a 1999 Hugger Orange SS a.k.a the HOSS. He's run me down at the track everytime so I'm looking forward to beating him with the new set up.

I thought at first I was in the wrong place b/c it looks like a lot of Mustang owners here, so I had to take a good look and make sure.

I am into performance and improving my firebird. Honestly there are very few "female's" I come across who actually know what they are talking about when it comes to cars. No offense intended but it is what it is.
I have a few girls that I'm friends with who know their cars inside and out.

I am not from Alabama, I'm from Virginia unfortunalty I'm stationed here with b/c the Air Force said so. I'm a Virginia Tech Hokies fan. Anything else you want to know just ask.

Well I liked the Formula look, but I like the T/A look even better, I don't really like the T/A nose so I left mine alone, but the rest is awesome. I must say you are the first person I have met that has a pink firebird. :)

I guess I kinda thought about it for a minute since the formula wing is lighter then the T/A wing and I was adding weight but the the ram air hood is lighter then the stock hood...go figure...if any weight needed to be added it was to the rear b/c I break tires loose on a daily bases. The stall will do that to you everytime....did someone say traction? What traction??!!!???:banghead :

The wing will hurt my ET's in the 1/4 but the new engine will make up for that and them some so I'm not too worried. Would be nice to get back to the drag strip for some new ET's.:eek:

You know that wing is heavier but honestly it is hard to find a better place for you to add weight. Now if you were driving a FWD car then we would have to have a little talk about downforce and traction :D

Yeah thats what everyone says but its the only place you can find a house for under $200,000 with yorktown, jamestown and well we won't even go there with williamsburg LOL! newport news and hampton have a "few" nice places for houses but other then that forget it.

G-town isn't all its cracked up to be but believe me thats where the parties were on the weekends b/c in the city they were broken up all the time by the cops. LOL!:(

yep i know where Smithfield is but i haven't been over that way. we're coming up to hampton Nov 21-30 for thanksgiving, hubby's family lives right next to langley. we can't wait to get outta alabama for a while.
