View Full Version : Little things that bother you about your car

I jacked this from another forum as well, but I love the topic.

My car is awesome and all, but it HAS flaws, as does everyone else's. Share yours here!

-Weighs too much, feels way too heavy in corners
-Has a covered wagon suspension. Live real axles suck
-My kidneys hurt after a long drive, does not absorb bumps in the road AT ALL
-For what it is, it is slow out of the box
-Needs a dang convertible top
-Left side of my dash no longer lights up (fixing ASAP)
-It is impossible to dry off the trunk lid under the wing, water just collects there and pools up and makes a mess
-The weak, granny shifting AODE
-Rear wheels are shoved too far in the fender (Need spacers ASAP)

That sounds like a lot now that I've typed it out, but geeez Moose, I really DO love you! :huggs:

I put a LOT of emphasis on handling though. Yep, I got the wrong car for that, hahahahahahahaha!

Hmm only real thing that bothers me, is it never has enough Horsepower...

the only thing about Audrey I could stand to do without follows..

-stock exhaust :(
-SEAT BELTS!
-HUGE blad/bleach stain in back seat under floormat
-her booboos :(
-how the hood scoop and spoiler hold water
-how I need a new chin spoiler :(

those are my only problems with Audrey, and they will all get fixed oneday, and she will then be my ULITMATE dream car :) I love you Audrey girl!

-how the hood scoop and spoiler hold water - I told you, get one of the blue towels from Obsessive Detail - water never runs down my hood and spots it all up since having one of those. Just put it on the scoop soon as you get done washing and leave it there til your done drying.

spoiler - dry car, pop trunk, dry the inside of the trunk and while your doing that, the water from under the spoiler will run down, get those drips with a towel while trunk is open. (feed towel between spoiler and trunk, grab at both ends and rub all the way down til dry.). I would really dry the rest of the car first though so it can drain most of the water before you open the trunk ..don't want to get speakers or anything wet.

here's my list:

seatbelt chokes me and/or ravels up, last mustang did this too

there is yellow grease under my seat from the seat motor which I inevitably get on me every time I vacuum. but it works so oh well :p

not liking chin spoiler

needs more horsies ;)

I have a longer list but I don't want to depress myself haha. My car is straight though and has no cosmetic damage which I am proud of.

Adam, your complaint is not relevant. mmkay? :stirthepot:

Really, I'm the only one bothered by the lack of handling and the crappy automatic transmission? I'm surprised!

Hmm well theres one I just noticed a few weekend ago. My seats won't go back far enough...I swear they use to go back farther and now they seem so close to the dash...so I'm confused lol

Hmmm I hate the huge antenna....Gunna get a shorty one soon hopefully

And I agree with the handling lol But mustangs are know for not being that great for cornering so o'well lol. I'm thinking of lowering her so that might help :

And the automatic does suck Britt!! BUTTT I bought a shift kit for her a few weekends ago. It was about 30bucks and took about an hour to install. I went on the highway with her right after and you could def tell the differance. She almost redlines when I have the kit on now :p lol It's pretty fun..

Honestly I love my car so much so theres not much I don't like about her lol

I have had a shift kit since '06, which was when I got my car! I have been patiently waiting for someone to install it for me... hmmm :stirthepot:

Don't get me wrong, I love my car too... I'm just not "blinded" by love I guess! Besides, I have a lot of fun cruising, and she was made to be a highway cruiser. The live rear axle kills it though.

Ummm...

1. Wish it was a 4x4
2. There is a ticking that sounds like my blinker under passenger side dash.. I kinda know what it is.. but a PITA to fix
3. Wish it was a V8
4. Wish it was easier to do the top of the thing when detailing.. besides climbing all over it to reach the center of the roof >.<

Other than that... meh..

OMG I have the same problem with Destiny ..can't reach the middle! In the Mustang I'd just open the door and stand in the car ..but I don't like doing that :p I might find me a step ladder ha.

Agree with E on the hood scoop issue! I'd rather not have it since it's non functional because the car wash takes FOREVER to get all the soap/water out.

Hate hate hate that I only get like 13 mpg now...

Hate that on the knobs for a/c, temp and vent the middle one won't click and sit right in the middle lol....it's always just a TAD bit off from straight in the middle compared to the outside two ha.

And yes the seatbelts are TOTALLY uncomfortable!!!!!

I like the smell of wd40 ..lol. Just be careful, the door WILL close a lot easier and on your leg if your not careful haha.

The fact it's an automatic - Wanted a five speed
Paint Blemishes

Other than that..I love everything about her. Even the rough ride, non-cornering things. ;)

Okay, here are my peeves with my vette (which will eventually get fixed):

1) My vents are not connected under the dash and I suspect I'm not getting enough vacuum in the car as it continually blows hot air down on my legs where they aren't connected.

2) Rattles very bad in the back compartment behind the seats. It's better if I pull the back shade forward, but still bad. I have taken apart the whole back and can't find any one thing causing it. I suspect the fact that my mufflers rub my bumper may have something to do with it lol.

3) My power seat doesn't work. Not a big issue for me as the car is made for short people and I can reach fine.

4) My seats are starting to wear through.

5) My doors don't lock, the latches on the outside to open them are a bit tricky, and my driver's side window rubs the clip on the windshield pillar post when shutting the door.

6) My one t-top has been glued back together and praying that it holds well. And since I got new seals on them they are hard to get in and out.

7) Headlights aren't right. They don't flip up like they should and some pieces are missing to them, but they do work if needed (but will blind all oncoming traffic lol).

8) My tach doesn't work.

9) The indicator on my shifter is broke so I have to play by feel lol.

10) Tranny shifts horribly.

Good news is that some of my issues will be fixed once that LS1/tranny gets put in.

On another note, my car is small and I can reach the top of it to clean it. It's so light weight (being fiberglass) that idiot me got my foot caught under it the other week when it stalled in the middle of the road on me and I rolled it over my foot...didn't even hurt. lol.

And I should be getting some new wheels this weekend :D

I also hate looking at my fender where the Cox Communication d-bag rammed his door into it!

hmm. I dont like that it is auto first of all. and the driver seat had airbags in it and has a lump from that. I feel like the car is to big for my taste and not enught room in the back seat for the kids to sit without kicking me and makingme move the seat up. cracked windshield. the a/c has gone wacko. we finally found the leaking problem after a yr but it doesnt always run at its speed and the same temp. body damage. I should say the only thig I like about my car is the leather interior and thedisk canger in the trunk and my radio.
