Has anyone here ever done a run on the Dragon? Caleb is trying to convince some friends to go (of course we're gonna wait until the weather warms up), and the kicker? If we go, he wants to take the Mustang! I will keep you guys updated, maybe if it happens we can get a small group together or something.

One of his friends has an old Skyline, I'd really love to do a run with him! (Like it'd be much of a run with me a mile behind with the top down, lol!)

How far away are you guys from it? It's about an 8 hour drive for us, so if we decide to go we will probably make a weekend of it.

I'd love to do it, but it probably wouldn't be much fun since Paige is a 4X4 and doesn't handle the turns very well.

Neither does mine! It'll still be fun! I love driving the Parkway, although I'm sure the Dragon is more of a challenge.

She's also a little newer then Paige... But the Dragon is one of those places I have always wanted to go with Sasha!

The husband and I was suppose to go last year. But something came up at last minute. If you go to http://wildhorsesclub.forumakers .com/video-links-f16/tail-of-the-dragon-in-car-video-t3522.htm you can see what is like. The husband club Well I guess mine to. Is planing on going on sept. 17 of this year again. Wildhorse go every year. I am dropping Sydany(my daughter) off at my mom in cookeville. And then pick her up on the way back to clarksville. The guys in wildhorses love it. Like I said I have never been. We have a few guys say that they have never hit 3rd gear do to all the curves which I may be wrong is 318 curves in 11miles. I think it is right on the Tn/Nc Border. But it would be worth it to go. I will be the on with my head stuck in a puke bag. I get car sick easily. Lol. I prob going to go get something from the doctor to ease my stomach for that trip. But All the guys in the club said it is worth it and that it is beautiful drive.

i hear mixed things about it.
a friend of mine has called it "the most over rated stretch of road" he's ever driven on.

due to all the hype, cops caught on apparently and it's loaded with'em... not sure if there are "off" times, but apparently it's crawling with them.

September 17th is Caleb's birthday, lol. That'd be a cool b-day gift!

I have heard this from quite a few people, stories about not even being able to go "fast enough to enjoy it", ect. I am researching nearby roads and it seems like some nearby are just as good, with less traffic and looser police activity.

I have also heard this. Apparently there are so many cops, you have to do the speed limit which is 25 I believe the whole way. (I also don't know if you would want to do much more with some of those curves) However, my boyfriend is the one i heard this from, and he said the roads leading up to Deal's Gap and the Dragon were more enjoyable then the actual "Dragon". Just my :twocents:

I have never been. But it is a big deal with the hubby's car club. This will be our first year going. His club has been going since they have been a club.

There was a rockslide on the Dragon. It should re-open by the end of this month. We enjoyed the dragon. It depends on what type of experience you are looking for while on it. Bikes like to time themselves through it and get impatient when they come across a cruiser. It's not uncommon to see Lifeflight up there; due to impatient reckless riding/driving. Cherohala skyway is an awesome ride with beautiful views; which we highly recommend as a great addition to that days ride. The Dragon is alll about the curves baby.
