OK my "baby" was hit while I was on vacction.....it is not really noticiable BUT she did get into the right rear quarterpanel.....$580 damage.....my car is '06 there is no serious scrapes that need painting. My main concern is that to fix the dent (small dent) it will involve painting the darn thing.....I do not plan on selling my car.....I ordered her new.....she is a keeper.....what do you all recomend? She will need paint eventually would you all wait till lter on down the road or risk having a noticable (possiably) painted area? Thanks.....

Well I think as long as you have kept her clean since you first got her, and the person that paints her is very good at their job, then the paint should match fine! Someone had broken into my car through the key hole and scraped up the whole door last year. Thankfully the first owner and I kept her very very clean all the time, so I can't even tell the door was repainted, and she's a 14yr old car. I wish you luck!! I know if it was me I'd have to get it fixed right away lol It would drive me crazy

:huggs: that sucks! I agree with everyone. If it isnt that bad paint should match fine. If you are that worried take it to Ford. Whats your insurance deductable? would you consider that if you had too? Have you looked to see if there is a paintless dent removal person around you? They are usually awesome!

Yes I got the quote from Ford as soon as I got back from vaccation and my hubby just happened to be sitting the car when she hit it! If he hadn't been she would have went merrily on..I do not think she was very happy that I took pics on the spot of my car and her pick up but oh well she needs to learn how to drive...she said it was her husbands fault becuse it was his pick up and also it was misting rain so that was the other reason she hit a parked car.....I wasn't as user friendly about the whole deal......meaning I didn't laugh it off like she did....I quietly called my insurance agent , called the police, and got her info......and the lisc. plate pics as well just in case....never raised my voice but was very thourough.....I really think she thought I would dismiss it....she had no clue! It was MY Pony she hit not just a car.......I will add pics as soon as I get back home I don't have them on the camera right now....I just don't want the paint pealing at a later date since I plan on keeping "Elmer" forever.....

As long as you have it fixed by a reputable shop, you won't even be able to tell it had been repainted. They usually do a "blending" technique. Sounds like your car is inside more than t is out, so it should be no problem at all.

something very similar happened to my cousin's husband, and it was with a woman in a pick up as well.. and she was incredibly rude about it as well. glad you got her info!
i wouldn't worry so much either, about matching the paint as it seems like the others have said, the paint has been kept fresh and out of a lot of every day use that would cause it to be a little harder to match without painting the entire car.
good luck, and i hope you get to feeling better about it soon!
i scuffed the paint on my rear bumper on my g6 gt 2 months ago and it had been bothering me the whole time up until now, the entire car is in the body shop due to something way greater :(

haha! I say the same thing about my car! We call him "Lester" for now, after Kevin Spacey's character from American Beauty haha.
I joke around with my friends and say, "I've got a new boyfriend! He's a bit older, rough around the edges, and mean!" hahaha.

I have had many minor dents repaired using someone that does "paintless dent repair" idk how they do it but it's like magic :p. I love watching them. I even had a ding in the "bend" on one of my fenders and he got it out! I'd try that first according to how bad they are.

I agree with the paintless, it depends how bad it is, but it's usually cheaper! Or you might even want to get an estimate from somewhere else?

ok Up date.....
got my car back last Thur.....the paint matches...there is a small difference in how it all fits the quarterpannel and the bumper...but I am not going to get bent over that would be more worried about the paint......I don't plan on getting rid of the car and I knowit will be repainted in the future......after I customize the seats...I hate the seats.......thanks for all the feedback.....
