Hi there, ladies and gents! First of all, sorry it's been a long time since I have been on here! I have been busy with school!
Anyways, my hubby gave me a cold air intake system for Christmas and he installed it. I noticed a big difference in performance. My Charger seems to accelerate more quickly and the droning from my Flowmaster has gotten quiet. I have read that the cold air intake should also be more fuel efficient. I was wondering if anyone who has an aftermarket cold air intake has experienced the fuel efficiency that is attributed to the cold air intake.
Also, do you think I should invest in getting a Diablo Sport Predator too to make my Charger faster and more fuel efficient?

I don't have one, but from what I've read it depends on the CAI. Some require a tune, and some say it's not needed. So I would start by looking into more info on the brand you got.
I'd be interested in hearing what brand and setup people have....??

I haz no CAI, but I hear that if you have one and any other mods a Tune is a good thing

I would say get a tuner. I have a MAC cai and I love it. I didn't notice a huge increase in gas mileage but I also have a lead foot.

Coming from a person with the Diablo, I'd go with SCT. Most places don't work with the Predator and mine runs rich, which means in the winter my car runs like A$$!!!!! At least look at the SCT before you make any purchases (at least I would now after having a Predator). Can't say that mine helped my mileage, but once I got my gears done, my car went to about 13 mpg.

Thanks, y'all, for the great advice. I'll look more into both the Predator and the Superchip before buying either.

I would ask the company you bought the CAI from which tuner they recommend, or if they recommend one at all...e.g., K&N requires a retune but some CAIs do not.

+1!!
Whether or not your CAI requires a Tune, a tune will ALWAYS help. Your tuner will be able to either make you a lot of Horsepower or make an economy tune to help out the gas mileage. Either way, a tuner is a must for the new breed of muscle cars. A lot of mods just wake up when the computer knows they are there! and Definatly look into the SCT XCAL, Diablosports are good, but the guys that do the tuning always recomend SCT as they are more tuner friendly and have more adjustable parameters which get you a better tune.

Alright, I'm starting an online parts store soon, right now I'm in the process of securing suppliers and adding products to the website....so I did a lil research:
SCT doesn't make a tuner for the Charger specifically, they have one for Dodge vehicles, and they come unprogramed so it might work for the Challenger, but it's not supported, and you'd have to get it programed.
However, DiabloSport does make one for the Charger, and it even comes with a few stock tunes. If you decide that is what you want I can get it for you for $350. If you find it any cheaper just let me know.
I'm planning to launch in the next month (Jan '10) and will be posting up the website in the next week or so as a soft launch for OG to test out and offer suggestions :D

Thanks for the info, Carlisa! And I'll certainly check out your store for the DiabloSport Predator for my Charger. It will be awhile till I have the money for it. I take it you'll have some Mopar parts too?:)

Yep, not just for Stangs ;) It'll be mostly late-model domestics tho, Mustang, Dodge, Camaro, and even Jeep and 4x4 stuff too.
I can get also get Hypertech and Superchips tuners if you want to look into those too.
