I don't have a street address for the Pavilion, but it's just off Bus. Hwy. 175, directly behind Teague Chevrolet-Buick, which is at 815 W. Mason (Bus. Hwy. 175). It's in the vicinity of the Andrew Gibbs Rodeo Arena and can be clearly seen from Bus. 175. The best route from Dallas is to take Hwy. 175 to Mabank, then take the Bus. 175 exit and you'll see the Pavilion on the right just a few blocks after you exit. You can turn to the right on Easley and that will take you directly to the Pavilion.

You can pre-register by faxing your applications, but to be assigned a number, you should provide credit card information on the application, or call Dorene in our office and give her the information. We are up to almost 45 pre-registered entries and there are spaces for 60 under roof. If being under the Pavilion is important to you, you may miss out if you don't pre-pay. We'll certainly be taking entries the day of, if you want to wait to pay.

GUN BARREL CITY–If crawfish with all the trimmings served out of doors is just what the doctor ordered to cure your spring fever, or if you just long for the good ol’ days and enjoy wandering around “remembering when” as you check out beautiful hot rods, trucks, muscle cars, T-buckets and more, you won’t want to miss the family event at Mabank Pavilion Saturday, May 3.

Last year, the Cedar Creek Lake Area Chamber of Commerce and the Cedar Creek Kiwanis Club partnered to produce a joint fund-raiser that proved to be highly successful for both groups. The Cedar Creek Lake Car Show and Kiwanis Krawfish Boil combined the best of two existing events to bring residents of the area and out of town visitors a day of show cars, great food, music and fun for the entire family.

Entrance to the Car Show is free.

Chamber president Jo Ann Hanstrom reports the 2007 event featured almost 100 cars from around the region, and by all indications, this year the show will be even more popular. Besides all of the wonderful show cars on display, there will be a rare 2008 Shelby GT Mustang, a car that has already brought a lot of excitement to car buffs. The Shelby is a limited edition (No. 259 of only 2,000) and visitors to our show will be able to buy tickets for a chance to win the car. Tickets are only $10 and all proceeds benefit the East Texas Crisis Center. This will be the inaugural showing of the Shelby as a fund-raiser for the Crisis Center. The car will be given away at 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 22, 2009, at Harvey Convention Center.
For those readers who have a car to show in the competition, entry forms are available at the chamber office at 604 S. Third St. Ste. E in Mabank.

There will be entries in 20 classes (including Jr. Dragster), door prizes, goodie bags and T-shirts for the first 100 entries, plus professional DJ Tom Pollard playing cruisin’ tunes all day.

Registration for the show will be from 8-11 a.m. Judging will be noon to 1 p.m. and awards will be presented at 2 p.m.
The cost to enter is $20 if pre-registered (first 60 entries guaranteed under the roof of the 28,000 square foot Mabank Pavilion) and $25 the day of the show.

For an application, call (903) 887-3152 or e-mail info@cedarcreeklakechambe r.com.
The Kiwanis Club will be serving crawfish with all the trimmings.
The tasty “mud bugs” will be sold in $5, $10, $15 and $20 servings.
The $20 flat has crawfish, corn on the cob and potatoes for four people.
The Chamber of Commerce Grill Team will be serving hot dogs, hamburgers and sausage on a stick for those folks who don’t care for crawfish, plus frozen candy bars will be available for dessert.
The Grill Team’s motto is “Eat a hot dog, save a crawfish.”
Besides the grill items, breakfast will be available at the concession for early birds, and souvenir T-shirts and other items will be on sale throughout the day.
